Are you one of almost 2000 individuals who have read the SCA articles about the Flock surveillance cameras? Do you want to be part of the conversation?
The council will be hearing from those supporting the continuation of surveillance cameras in our city (law enforcement). But: Anyone not supporting camera surveillance have been excluded (residents who pay for it).
City staff, or one of the council, has built a presentation with a viewpoint that is clearly in favor of Automated License Plate Readers (ALPRs). There are many pages of pro-Flock information and only one single bullet pointed paragraph listing public concerns around surveillance.
Monday, Mar. 9-7:00 pm-City Council Chambers
Open to the public
See the AGENDA
SCA sees this imbalance of documentation and the exclusion of residents, who pay for this technology, as part of this discussion.
We (you) can make change: show up for the meeting tomorrow night and insist that you are heard.
Let city leaders know what you think.
- Best option: attend and /or speak up at City Council meetings and get it on the public record.
