3. Matters from the Floor: (Public opportunity to make a 3-minute comment without council action.)  Duane Laurila of Eureka Road North asked the council confirm rumors that residents would be forced to hook-up to city water. He was told there would be many discussions before the decision is made.

A. Staff

      • Parks-Czech:
        • Report on Lucky Pots of Gold in the parks
        • Shalo Lee Band scheduled for July 17, with opening kids band
        • Movie in the Park scheduled for August 22
      • Public Works-Morreim: None.
      • Engineering-Budde: None
      • Finance-Schmuck:
        • Finance preparing for the annual audit, long-term financial management plan has started to build the working document
        • Preparing for 2026 budget calendar
      • Planning-Griffith:
        • Planning commission is working on public hearing for subdivision ordinances
        • Building season is kicking off with an increasing number of permits pulled
      • City Clerk/HR: None
      • City Attorney: None
      • City Administrator-Nevinski:
        • Welcome Jake Griffiths as planning director
        • Recruitment for a new planner is beginning.
        • Hwy 7 transit management organizational study group has accepted three proposals and they have been shared in the selection committee.
        • SLMPD is doing road restriction enforcement and there may be additional cost to the city for the “above and beyond” service.
        • Doing right-of-way enforcement including resident deposits of landscaping materials on city roads, public works will remove it.
        • Similarly hockey nets and basketball hoops are being addressed to keep right of ways clear.
        • Water main on Mill Street will be discussed at the next work session.
        • Street sweeping will start next week.
        • Agenda software has been ordered, it will be several months until training and implementation.

B. Mayor and City Council

      • DiGrutollo: 3-4 residents have asked about the Hwy 7 orange monitoring device and suggested an informational piece in the newsletter
      • Gorham: Appreciated being part of the planning director interviews.
      • Sanschagrin: LMCC is having difficulty with plans to sell the facility.
      • Labadie: State of the city address and Mayors forum has been filmed by the LMCC. Also attended a district-wide meeting with Minnetonka School Superintendent Law.
