9. STAFF AND COUNCIL REPORTS AND DISCUSSION

A. Staff

  • Parks-Czech:
    • “Report on Lucky Pots of Gold” in the parks
    • RFP out for parks master plan, expecting good choice of submissions
    • Public Works-Morreim:
    • Staff utility training
    • New sweeper arrived and will start sweeping in the next week or two
    • Lacrosse nets out this week
  • Engineering-Budde: None
  • Finance-Schmuck:
    • Shorewood awarded certificate of achievement from GFOA
  • City Clerk/HR:
    • Planning director interviews next week, recommendations will come to the council on March 24.
  • City Administrator-Nevinski:
    • E-bike with a coalition of cities, including Three RIvers to work on consistent messaging and track state statutes striving for one voice
    • New bills in the Senate that are reiterations of the “Missing Middle” legislation of 2024 are back with bi-partisan support.
    • DiGruttolo asked for regular updates to the council regarding county and state activities.

B. Mayor and City Council

  • DiGruttolo: None.
  • Sanschagrin: Suggested topics for future work sessions or council meetings (1) e-bike oversight and (2) analysis of city-owned property and what to do with them
  • Maddy: The new fire truck has been delivered.
  • Labadie: Reported on various meetings attended.
