The Brightest Moon of the Year Is Almost Here

November’s Full Moon occurs on 10/5/2025 @ 7:19 am Minneapolis (CST) time

Beaver moon to be largest, brightest full moon of 2025:
This will be the closest full moon of 2025, orbiting just about 221,800 miles from Earth — roughly 14% closer than average. Because of that proximity, the “Beaver” moon will appear slightly larger and up to 30% brighter than a typical full moon, earning its title as a “supermoon.”
The November full moon’s name traces back centuries, rooted in Native American and early colonial traditions, according to the Old Farmer’s Almanac.
The full moon coincided with when beavers built their winter dams — and when trappers historically set out to collect their dense, cold-season pelts.
