Definition of Matters from the Floor-Public Comment During a Council Meeting

“Matters from the Floor” is on the council agenda as a time for the public to raise issues and make comments for items not otherwise on the agenda. No action will be taken for issues raised, although an item may be placed on a future agenda. Because the council meeting is a business meeting to consider matters on the agenda and to give equal opportunity to all participants, individuals have three minutes to speak. –Source: City of Shorewood website
